Anna Meschiari et Dounia Chemsseddoha se sont rencontrées à RIGA à Saint-Pierre-de-Trivisy en 2023. C’est au cours de leurs échanges et discussions, notamment autour de la recherche sur l’invisible que Dounia mène dans son travail artistique, qu’Anna a eu l’idée de l’inviter à interroger son exposition Les dormeur.euse.x.s (Mrac Occitanie, Sérignan, 11.10.2025 au 22.03.2026) sous la forme d’un film.
Les œuvres d’art sont-elles animées, hantées ? Portent-elles en elles des traces, des mémoires, mais aussi des pensées ?
Dans ce film, toutes deux performent un échange usant de protocoles et de dispositifs imaginés par Dounia Chemsseddoha, hérités des pratiques spirites et des enquêtes paranormales : cadrans de radiesthésie gravés sur verre et pendule, radio hackée, microphone éléctro-magnétique, Transcommunication Instrumentale, tirage de Tarot. L’exposition d’Anna Meschiari se mue en un espace animé où ses œuvres sont envisagées comme entités autonomes. En découle un langage neuf et fictionnel, un dialogue spontané peuplé de synchronicités, de surgissements, où les réponses sont inattendues, lacunaires, souvent énigmatiques.

In this film, the two artists enact an exchange using protocols and devices devised by Dounia Chemsseddoha—drawing on spiritualist practices and paranormal investigations—such as glass-engraved dowsing charts and a pendulum, a hacked radio, an electromagnetic microphone, Instrumental Transcommunication, and Tarot readings. Anna Meschiari’s exhibition transforms into an animated space where her artworks are viewed as autonomous entities. The result is a new, fictional language—a spontaneous dialogue filled with synchronicities and sudden manifestations, where the answers are unexpected, fragmentary, and often enigmatic.
